The power of Data

E-commerce is the fastest growing retail market projected to hit $4.058 trillion in sales in 2020. Mobile commerce, or e-commerce, is a rapidly growing new avenue of e-commerce that’s mostly driven by the expanding market and influence of smartphones and millennial’ comfort with shopping online. In 2016, the e-commerce sector enjoyed a 39.1% increase in sales compared to the previous year.

There is a reason why e-commerce has demonstrated such explosive growth in the past couple of years. Indeed, with the internet becoming an essential requirement of everyday life, businesses are learning to take advantage of the numerous benefits of e-commerce, especially the application of intelligent data.

Connect sourcing with hotel program compliance

What's the point of negotiating a hotel programme if your travelers are booking outside? The super fragmented and volatile lodging market is quite impossible to follow if you are not a specialist. Hotels are opening and closing every day and changing their rates every hour according to their occupancy.

As long you encompass the whole global offer, you are in a buyer market and you have numerous negotiations opportunities by diversifying your offer which will allow you as well to meet your various traveler profile requirements. This is an ongoing process as demand and offer are not fixed for a year.

This session will show you a real case of how a corporation had benefits from choosing a continuous lodging approach.

Breakout Sessions

Breakout session 1: Panel: Payment——How to connect the hotel industry?

Many suppliers are involved to make the central payment solutions available to all business travelers. The hotels are at the end of the value chain, and it is essential that they accept this new payment mode. While it is becoming common demand within corporate world, there is still a lot to do when it comes to process management and hotel coverage improvement. This session will explore how to accelerate the acceptance and application of the central payment solution.

Breakout session 2: Panel: How to connect lodging for transient and meetings?

The lodging category is the most common spend between transient travel and meetings. On the hotel side, the two businesses used to be sold very separately by different sales forces with different pricing policies. Since procurement organizations have started to look at the meeting spend optimization opportunities, the hotel industry have merged their team and approach to corporations. However, the pricing policies and viel management still remain different and it is often difficult for non-experts to understand what type of optimization corporations can get by bundling their volumes. This session will showcase how a corporation could optimize their meeting and transient lodging spend when it was relevant.
